Sometime around 2001, lunchtime and pickup truck conversations among a small group of Christian men wearing Mossy Oak (on their clothing, in their hearts, or both) centered around a singular, recurring, observation. “When we go fishing we use baits that are attractive to the fish; so if we are called to be Fishers of Men in the outdoor world, it might be helpful to have a bible that is attractive to outdoors minded people.”
From those conversations, the concept of a bible with a camo cover was born. As the idea took root, it became clear that God has chosen to reveal many spiritual insights to us through the wonders of His creation and through our outdoor pursuits!
A series of hunting and fishing related commentaries was ultimately developed and then incorporated into The Outdoorsman’s Holy Bible, first released in 2002, featuring a Mossy Oak Breakup cover. Though reformatted a couple of times in the ensuing years, the content remained unchanged until it finally went out of print around 2017.
Since the beginning, Catch-A-Dream has provided a copy this bible to each child we have served. But as supplies neared depletion, we needed to revive the concept and ensure we always had a special edition bible for each child. After extensive updates and revision, including a significant rebranding and new cover designs featuring Original Bottomland and Elements Steelhead, the ALL NEW Catch-A-Dream edition of The Outdoors Holy Bible was born.
