June 7, 2016 (Louisville, MS) – MaxxSouth Broadband is proud to be the top sponsor of the 4th Annual Pickwick Lake Catch-A-Dream Bass Classic in Pickwick Landing State Park on June 18.

Recognized as the Presenting Sponsor of the event, MaxxSouth Broadband is providing more than $17,500 in advertising and sponsorship contributions in order to promote awareness for Catch-A-Dream, a non-profit organization based out of Starkville, Mississippi. Catch-A-Dream provides children 18 and younger who suffer from life-threatening illnesses the opportunity to experience outdoor adventures.

“Being community-minded and always having our eye out for great causes is ingrained in the MaxxSouth Broadband culture,” said Tonya Thompson, Regional General Manager for MaxxSouth Broadband. “We see great value in ensuring that these children get to enjoy an outdoors experience.”

Through Catch-A-Dream, the children and their families are surrounded by outdoors-minded, trained volunteers who, along with other local volunteers and outfitters, nurture them through the strong personal relationships forged in the lodge, on the water or in the woods.

This year’s event will feature youth teams and couples divisions, and cash and prizes up to $5,000. A year ago, the event attracted 85 boats and raised $10,500 in net proceeds.

“We are proud supporters of this worthy event which, in only three years, has caught a lot of folks’ attention,” said Evan Ricks, Public Relations Coordinator for MaxxSouth Broadband. “Come out and have fun on the lake – you might return home with a cash prize but you most assuredly will help change a young person’s life.”

As part of its sponsorship, MaxxSouth has produced and is now broadcasting a 30-second video commercial for the event. MaxxSouth will also produce and broadcast a 30-second spot for Catch-A-Dream to use as general advertisement for the organization. In addition, the event is being promoted on MaxxSouth’s channel guide, website and through social media. Besides advertising and promotions, MaxxSouth is also sponsoring two boat entries in the tournament.

“Being a part of this great event that does so much for our area youth is one of the highlights of my summer,” said Tim Thompson, a MaxxSouth Broadband Business Services Installer and one of MaxxSouth’s sponsored entrants. “Getting kids outdoors opens their minds to so many possibilities.”
