For the most significant demonstration nationally of commitment to “the Vision” of the Catch-A-Dream Foundation through contribution of time, energy and talents toward fulfilling and perpetuating the mission of the Program.
2016 Recipient: GEORGE TAYLOR
Balancing a career in medical sales with family priorities and volunteer service, George Taylor of Madison has spent much of his adult life serving exemplary fashion in his community, church and beyond. An active member of Madison United Methodist Church, he spends much of his leisure time with his wife, Amy and two daughters, coaching the girls in soccer and softball. He is also an avid hunter and fisherman and somehow finds a way to sandwich in some hiking and camping along the way.
George has served his church in various leadership and teaching roles, as well as on mission trips. Having served as a teacher for both students and adults at various times, George has developed a passion for “making a difference” and “answering a call.” Since becoming involved with Catch-A-Dream in 2011 as a trained and certified Volunteer Host, George has served as a host for children and families from six different states, to destinations in five different states across the US. He has also been instrumental in the success of the Catch-A-Dream Bass Classic, held annually on Ross Barnett Reservoir, now entering its 8th year. George has contributed hundreds of volunteer hours in helping not only to deliver our core mission, but also in helping generate resources to support that mission delivery. George is a constant emissary for Catch-A-Dream wherever he goes, always looking for ways to promote and support the program. His passion and zeal are contagious, and he is an ever-present stimulus to us to think “outside the box” as we continue to grow and refine the program.
For his relentless efforts and tireless demonstration of the volunteer spirit, and for his impact on the program and upon countless lives, we proudly present the eleventh annual Catch-A-Dream Foundation Volunteer of the Year Award to George Taylor.
